Upgrade before SP1
For those of you who don’t know or haven’t seen (where have you been?) Microsoft have released three major new products, Exchange 2007, Vista and Office 2007 (aka EVO).
I’ve heard a lot of industry experts talk about these new products and how quick the take up will be, but the most common question I’ve heard asked is when will SP1 (service pack 1) be released?
I am so sick of hearing this question, of the continuing trend of not taking advantage of these amazing new products until there is a service pack released. The “it wont be stable or usable” until SP1 attitude that other so called experts take. Its ridiculous.
The new wave of Microsoft technologies are better out of box than any other previous Microsoft product and any I.T person that takes this SP1 attitude either hasn’t done any testing with these new products or is too stuck in their ways, these people will very quickly find that they are left behind.
I’ve been testing all three for quite sometime. As soon as possible I intend to get the relevant training, because if as many other I.T pros and decision makers did the testing that I have, the take up will be a lot sooner than you think.
One response so far
I too have tested these products and as you say believe the take up will be quicker than previous new MS products.
