I am a member of the Microsoft Technet subscription, which I would recommend to any I.T professional. The UK technet team have regular blogs which I subscribe to, its good to read a real world Microsoft employees point of view and I think makes me more enamored with the UK division of Microsoft.

The Technet team are often referred to as ‘I.T Pro Evangelists‘ which is is a great description. They are very dedicated to their causes and technologies.

How would you define evangelist? Whats the difference between expert and evangelist, I hear you ask?

I’m working my way to several Microsoft qualifications but I don’t think certificates are enough to warrant the title Evangelist. I think there is a huge amount of dedication involved and a lot of extremely detailed knowledge in your particular field. The Technet team go out of their way to help the every day people like me and you which I think is also another important part of being an evangelist.

The point in this blog?

Simple really, the first step to achieving this title is understanding what its all about.
