I’ve been meaning to post about this for some time and Bjorns recent post over at Ultra Mobile Life has brought it back to my attention.

For those that don’t know Via have a new prototype mobile platform which has the potential to change the way we work and use UMPC’s, PDA’s and smartphones.

Its a credit card sized motherboard and features a VIA C7-M ULV S processor. It also features the VIA VX700 single chip solution, CDMA, built in memory, USB, audio, display connector and I/O connector. This could be the answer that all the low powered Intel A1xx processor devices could be looking for.

The potential in my eyes is phenomenal, at the current 75 mm x 45 mm size it would easily fit into a smartphone, imagine x86 architecture in a smartphone, imaging using the applications you run on your home PC, on your mobile or pocket PC.
